William F. Donahue, Jr. of Petaluma died peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2024.
Born to William and Evelyn Donahue in Bronx, NY, Bill spent his early years in New York and New Jersey. His long career at McGraw Hill Publishers began in Manhattan, NY and later brought him to their Novato, CA office as a Credit Manager, working closely with universities, business schools and educational institutions across the state.
In his retirement, Bill became a fixture in the Petaluma community as a leader in senior advocacy, affecting local mobile home regulations and representing mobile homeowners. He served as president of his residential board and became a resource and advisor for Sonoma County mobile home residents and associations regarding mobile home law and legislation.
Bill leaves behind his children, Pattie Altizio, Christine Goodin, William Donahue III, Karen Stavros; grandchildren, David Bricknell, Olivia Goodin, Danielle Altizio, Casey Aldrich, Adam Aldrich; sister Barbara Purvis; brother James Donahue; sister-in-law Cynthia Donahue and son-in-law Rick Altizio
Bill was an empathetic and gentle man who was a kind friend to everyone he met. His last day was filled with laughter and memories, with his daughters by his side. He will be missed tremendously.
